Michael Pope, Managing Partner Michael oversees investments at Cluny, leveraging his distinct insight into litigation finance, backed by extensive experience investing in special situations. He is also the Founder and Managing Member of Cluny Advisors, LLC, and serves as the fractional Chief Funding Officer of Aiken Farrell Kroloff, an Arizona-based Alternative Business Structure (ABS) representing thousands of clients across multiple torts.
Prior to founding Cluny, Michael was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Litigation Finance at Jefferies, a global full-service investment bank and capital markets firm. He began his career in finance as an Analyst at Lazard Brothers & Co. Ltd. in London in 1989, and has since held senior roles as Managing Director at Bear Stearns, Goldman Sachs, and Angelo Gordon. Mr. Pope is based in Rye, New York and works from Cluny’s Midtown Manhattan office at 250 Park.

Pat Shannon, Managing Partner Pat Shannon is the Founder and Managing Partner of Equine Capital Solutions, LLC (“Equine”), a specialized firm providing origination, valuation, and asset management services for legal investment strategies. Equine is partnered with Arena Investors, LP, a global institutional asset manager headquartered in New York, with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Prior to founding Equine, Mr. Shannon served as Chief Operating Officer of Mustang Litigation Funding, a lawsuit cash advance funder with multiple litigation finance sub-strategies. He has spent his entire career working in alternative investments. Mr. Shannon is based in Minneapolis.

Ed Gehres, General Counsel As Cluny’s General Counsel, Ed draws on nearly three decades of experience across litigation finance, structured investments, and regulatory strategy. He founded Invenio LLP in 2022 to support high-growth platforms and lead legislative efforts shaping the litigation finance industry.
Ed previously served as General Counsel at 777 Partners, an investment firm with holdings in fintech, aviation, and specialty finance. His litigation career includes roles at Arnold & Porter and Patton Boggs, representing both plaintiffs and major corporate defendants. Ed is based in Washington, D.C.

Blake Trueblood, Strategic Advisor Blake is the co-founder of Invnio LLP and has been in the litigation finance industry for 18 years. He previously served as General Counsel for a group of litigation finance and claims management companies, where he assisted plaintiffs and law firms in various practice areas, from personal injury to mass torts.
Blake splits time between South Florida and Arizona, where he is deeply involved in the state’s Alternative Business Structure (ABS) program for law firms and has expertise navigating the ABS approval board and compliance framework.

Matt Siano, Strategic Advisor Matt was Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel of Two Sigma Investments, L.P., where he oversaw a team responsible for evaluating litigation risk on a wide range of matters.
